Get to know our locals: As Time Will Tell

Massachusetts has turned out a pretty impressive lineup of pop-punk and melodic hardcore acts over the past decade. Acts such as Four Year Strong, Vanna and A Loss For Words highlight the list. However, standing up next to these bands has not phased upcomers As Time Will Tell thus far in their career: they just keep having fun and playing music that they love and believe in.
The young group of 5 guys (some not even out of high school) is already signed to local label District Kills Records, who helped the band drop their debut EP just recently. They are currently in search of a drummer and are normally a six-piece band with two dedicated vocalists. Motions features 8 tracks which are packed with catchy riffs and clean vocals, along with harshly-screamed vocals to compliment the heavy moments for the band. The EP kicks off with the track “Have A Nice Life Kiddo,” a rather heavy-hitting song with driving guitar riffs all the way through; attributes that make the song one of the strongest on the EP. “Capo 5″ and “Reprieve” both bring a soft, relaxing, and heartfelt sound to the EP amongst the heavy, quick tempo songs. “Picture Of The Past” brings a lighter, more pop-punk feeling into the album, while still containing a fair amount of screams. To say the least, Motions features plenty of diversity from the band.
They are certainly heavier than newer efforts from Four Year Strong, but the comparisons that As Time Will Tell may draw are far more apparent when the singing to their songs kick in. Catchy, well-sung choruses make the bands music a bit easier to listen to, but equally well-done screamed vocals add a solid balance to their songs. Look out for these guys, as they’re going to be doing more recording and presumably touring in the near future.
